See register, roll-forward, and journals in one place

Minty Assets keeps the asset subledger practical: accountants can review active and fully depreciated assets, trace depreciation to components, and see movement history before journals leave the system.

Direct traceability
Journal lines link back to the asset and component that produced them.
Lifecycle movements
Additions, improvements, disposals, impairments, and revaluations flow into the roll-forward.
Role-aware workflow
Viewers, editors, admins, and owners get strict access to the actions they should control.

What is covered

Fixed asset accounting that follows the asset, not the spreadsheet

The app is structured around the workflows accountants run repeatedly: prove the register, post depreciation, explain movements, and export balanced entries.

Component accounting

Track separable asset components with their own cost, residual value, useful life, method, and in-service date.

Depreciation and journals

Preview, post, reverse, and export balanced depreciation journals with direct asset and component traceability.

IFRS lifecycle events

Handle improvements, partial disposals, impairments, revaluations, held-for-sale classification, and annual estimate reviews.

Audit-ready reports

Run 8 reports across register, depreciation, roll-forward, activity, disposals, fully depreciated assets, expenses, and journals.

Close workflow

From acquisition to disposal

Every major book movement is captured as an accounting event, then reflected in depreciation, journals, roll-forward reporting, and exports.

01

Acquire

Register or import assets, then create opening cost and accumulated depreciation history.

02

Review

Capture useful life, method, and residual value evidence for annual IFRS estimate reviews.

03

Depreciate

Calculate by component, cap at residual value, and post balanced journal entries.

04

Adjust

Record improvements, impairments, revaluations, and held-for-sale classification.

05

Dispose

Calculate date-capped NBV, partial disposal values, proceeds, and gain or loss.

Reports and exports

Audit schedules and journal files without rebuild work

Filter reports by date, category, location, department, status, and asset movement. Export journal entries with presets for Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or your own column mapping.

FAQ

Questions accountants ask first

What is Minty Assets?

Minty Assets is fixed asset register and depreciation software for businesses that need book accounting, audit trails, journal entries, and report exports without maintaining a spreadsheet model.

What depreciation methods are supported?

Minty Assets supports Straight Line, Declining Balance, Double Declining Balance, Sum of Years Digits, and No Depreciation for land or assets under construction. Pro and Accountant plans include all 5 book methods.

Does it support IFRS workflows?

Yes. The book workflow covers IAS 16 component accounting and revaluation model events, IAS 36 impairment events, IFRS 5 held-for-sale classification, disposals, and annual estimate review evidence.

Does it calculate US tax depreciation or MACRS?

No. This pass is focused on book accounting. US tax depreciation and MACRS are explicitly unsupported.

What reports are available?

There are 8 audit-ready reports: Asset Register, Depreciation Schedule, Roll Forward, Expense Summary, Disposals, Fully Depreciated Assets, Journal Report, and Asset Activity.

Can I import an existing asset register?

Yes. The CSV Import Wizard maps columns, validates rows, supports current accumulated depreciation values, and can create the opening accounting history needed for partially depreciated assets.

How do permissions work?

Viewer users can view and export, editors can create and run depreciation, admins can dispose, delete, manage settings, and manage the team, and owners control billing and company deletion.

Run the fixed asset close from one ledger.

Start with 50 assets free. Add journals, reports, and IFRS lifecycle controls when the register grows.
